A large Chokwe Mask from the regions of Angola. The Chokwe are closely related to the oldest people on the planet, the little Twa people of central Africa. As such, They have inherited many of the customs and practices of these ancient Mbuti pygmies and have expressed them via the tribal art form of the hard wood masks, carved for their daily rituals.
